This is true. OS X is optimized from the very beginning for the Intel  
(CSIC) CPU and not the PPC (RISC) CPU. When OS X runs on a PPC chip  
there's about a 10% wasted cycle hit based upon the CISC optimization.

Benchmarks run on similar speed CPUs show the PPC being hampered worse  
in Leopard than in Tiger.
