The x86 Macs are faster than the old PPC Macs simply because they're newer and run at faster clock speeds. However, all things being equal - clock speed, updated processors, etc, Power/PowerPC is faster than Intel Core. Power/PowerPC is simply a much cleaner faster architecture. ...PowerPC is a subset of Power. IBM has done some amazing things with the Power line of processors. Intel will catch up eventually, I guess. Then IBM will blow them away again. - Dan. -- - Psychoceramic Emeritus; South Jersey, USA, Earth --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed Low End Mac's G3-5 List, a group for those using G3, G4, and G5 desktop Macs - with a particular focus on Power Macs.
