Let's be honest, it isn't like a surprise that PPC isn't supported by 10.6. 
When Apple switched to Intel it was very clear that the PPC would be dead 
sooner or later. Steve Jobs stated very clearly by the presentation of 10.5 
that the next release (10.6) would be Intel only. Now, there is nothing wrong 
with sticking with the PPC for a certain time. However, there will be some 
drawbacks too. Software development will be concentrated on Intel and I doubt 
it that we see a lot of Universal Binaries anymore. I'm pretty sure Apple will 
continue with the release of security updates like they did with OS 9. Over 
time, used Intel Macs will become cheaper and more affordable which is 
something I look forward to.
