And I think the reason for this is that they're trying for mass-appeal. They need new recruits and there are plenty in the windoze world. So they figure they could get them by tailoring stuff for them, and in the end they're turning a unix system...the first perhaps...into a hog. Simple but elegant, with few exceptions, is partly responsible for Apple's success. If Linux can do that, heck! they could, with all this messy intel switch, beat even Apple.
