Gnome.  I think I like it but not because it's a copy of OS neXt.

I got involved in  yabasic a while ago. It's because I wanted to persuade a 
neighbor's 11 year old that he would be better off writing his own games.  But 
yabasic for Linux needed a bit of work before he could use it on ubuntu.

I found that I had to work with direct calls to the x11 toolbox as well as the 
gnome toolkit and it was an educational effort to me.

What's amusing is that those tools exhibited a strange familiarity. They are 
just like the tools available in Mac OS 1 through 7. It all came back and I was 
pleased. The big difference was that all of Apple's secrets were gone.

Gnome may be a poor copy of OS X but it's a pretty good copy of classic Mac. 
Or, considering when x first appeared, I wonder who did the copying.
