Hi, Quote people who haven't already got a Ps2, wii or whatever. Perhaps someone with a lot more technical knowhow than me could let us know how much the Xbox is modeled on Windows, and whether Sapi and other windows accessibility aides could be used in games for it? End quote
Well, all I personally know is the XBox does use a Windows type core, and many Microsoft technologies were ported to the XBox from Windows XP. However, beyond that Microsoft is pretty tight mouthed about the XBox os. A developer can't get the XBox software development kit without paying huge royalty fees, a signed NDA agreement, and Microsoft's direct approval to create games for their console. So you really have to be a big name company with millions of bucks and Microsoft's personal consent just to get the specs on the XBox let alone create something for it. Now, I know Microsoft has created a tool for writing your own XBox games in C#, what else, but it still doesn't tellyou much what the Xbox has for guts. Though it has DirectX and at least .Net Framework 1.1 from what I can tell. --- Gamers mailing list __ [email protected] If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org.
