Hi,
Having lived through the early Sega vs Nintendo wars most of the kids in
my school thought Sega sucked. I really wasn't a fan my self of Sega. My
parents gave me a choice of a Sega or a Nintendo and I went with the NES
and Super NES platform. There were a few Sega games I liked such as 688
and Zaxxon, but the rest of the games I personally had no interest in.
Keep in mind back then games like Mario, double Dragon, Castlevania,
Megaman, etc were the in thing. If you didn't own those games you didn't
have anything in common with your fellow gamers. Nintendo was the
platform of choice for kids in the 1980's and you boasted you had a Sega
system you were definitely in the out crowd. You would not win
popularity contests owning a Sega system at my school.
