If you unplug the USB headset. All sounds will revert back to the
default sound card. you have to go back in those options and re
configure the headset as default again. Its not a problem with the
headset, but just doing what it only knows.

Hi Lori,
That's definitely not it. What he is talking about is when you open
the XP Volume Control, go to the Options menu, and select Properties
there should be a list of devices to configure. On my Windows XP
desktop my USB headphones show up as HP Digital Headset or something
like that. Yours may be called something different depending on what
brand and model of headset you have. All the same it should be obvious
which device is your headset and which is your sound card.
