Lyle's absolutely right. USFWS cares a great deal about the animals that come
into this country. The sheer numbers of animals that pass through just MIA
prevents them from doing a perfect job. They have to contend with big cats, hot
snakes, tiny gex, zillions of birds, insects, and animal parts of all kinds. It
is not humanly possible to have staff and facilities to take care of all the
animals in optimal conditions. But they do care!! They even follow up on
individual animals that have been placed at zoos and other facilities. And in
many instances their hands are tied by laws regulating the disposition of
evidence in federal cases. So give 'em a break. They do what they can with what
they have.
