Cleve, I have two Linksys firewalls, one wired and one wireless. I use both at home and they work just fine. After installing the wireless drivers on a Redhat 7.1 (now 7.2) laptop I am able to roam around the house, yard in wireless bliss. Also the Linksys wireless card words at LSU with the CISCO AIROCOM access points. The only 'hitch' in operation was to get the drivers, which turned out to be a non-event. And then to make sure dhcpcd is running. Dhcpcd will use wlan0 as the Linux device name. Wireless around Lsu's campus is limited to the Union, Library and a couple of other places. I've sat in the middle of the parade ground and remained connected. One-other-thing-about-linksys.... My older linksys wired firewall required re-flashing the operating system in order to correctly work with Cox net's new dhcp scheme. I have not used netgears routers and firewalls, but looking at Netgear web page documentation leads me to believe setting up the netgear firewall is not that much different from the Linksys. No easier, no harder. A basic understanding of networking will help with setting up any firewall/router though.
