Hey Doug,

Please define what you mean by "mini BRLUG". I perceive that as being an
off-shoot of BRLUG, or somehow under the umbrella of BRLUG. I don't think
this would attract interest at LSU among LSU faculty. I'm sure that BRLUG
members who are connected somehow to LSU would feel free to be members of
both, or even to leave BRLUG and join a separate LSU related Linux group.

The goal, IMO, is to promote Linux advocacy, not BRLUG advocacy.

I'm not trying to raise a platoon sargeant's dander here; just trying to
understand why you want an LSU LUG to be a "mini BRLUG". :)

More later, but I am thinking a mini Brlug. There is
interest in an LSU site to organize Open Source
software efforts and software. There is interest in
day time meetings. A mailing list would be great, and
I do not think the BRLUG should pick up the tab or the
labor. However, a campus LUG would be constantly
shifting. BRLUG would be the hub, a campus LUG would
have to come to papa to get anything done. A campus
LUG might be able to get something the BRLUG has
always had problems with though... Money.

More later. This came up through complaints. It will
all come out in the wash.

No hurries, no worries. There is time...
