As I mentioned earlier, I am open to any ideas on this issue.

As I see it there are three routes that may be followed:

1. Completely independent LSU LUG.
2. LSU LUG with strong and visible ties to the BRLUG.
3. LSU LUG that is a campus presence of the BRLUG.

I think that number two has the most promise. It allows the LSU LUG to 
develop as an independent organization, yet there is still strong support 
from our LUG. The BRLUG has a strong following, at least on a virtual level 
via the mailing lists, and we have a good reach via the announcements list. 
That in itself would provide a good vehicle to be used during the LSU LUG 
formation.

Are there any firm plans for the LSU LUG as far as organization, meetings, 
etc.? Does anyone have an estimated membership count?
