I've often wondered the same thing. The only reason I can think that Apple hasn't gotten into the x86 market is that they would have to support drivers for all the devices out there, for which Microsoft does not do a great job. Apple has always aimed at providing an excellent computing experience, so maybe they didn't want to duplicate Microsoft's mediocre one. BTW, you _can_ run Darwin (the guts) on x86, just not Aqua (the GUI): http://www.gnu-darwin.org/ > But i'm actually thinking about getting a MacMini > since they're pretty > affordable and appear to be decent machines (haven't > read any in depth > reviews though). Same here! Now that there is a new Mac in a price range I am willing to pay for, I am very interested. And it's damn cute! John __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
