It looks as though the artifact naming is trying to stick to the OSGi  
R4 spec on the version format.  Section 3.2.4, "Version" covers it and  
states that it should be a '.' as in MAJOR.MINOR.MICRO.QUALIFIER where  
MAJOR, MINOR and MICRO are digits and QUALIFIER is alphanumeric, dash  
and underscore.
