Right, firstly to get the genesis socks server working you need to add
the following lines to the inetd and services database:

In Inetd enter:

socks stream tcp nowait root amitcp:serv/socks5 socks5 -i
socks dgram udp nowait root amitcp:serv/socks5 socks5 -i

In services enter:

socks 1080/tcp
socks 1080/udp

Now, to get your NT4 internet apps working via socks 5, you'll need to
download the latest sockcap32 from www.socks.nec.com

Internet Explorer (all versions) cannot run via sockscap. To use IE
via socks, you'll need to download named.lha from aminet and install
that. On you NT4 machine, enter the ip address of your amiga into the
DNS box in network preferences. In IE enter the ip address of your
amiga in the socks box of the proxy set-up page.

That should help you get it working a bit better.
