Morbid question but...

This may seem a bad question, but it occured to me after reading a couple of
recent emails about gerbils passing on --

What do you do with the little body after death?  I can't imagine just
throwing my beloved pets into the garbage.  Do you give them a little
funeral and bury them in the yard?  If so, how deep do you bury them to make
sure they don't get dug out by the cat next door?  Or are there other ways
to dispose of the body with dignity?
