I can hardly imagine a situation when user somehow edits thnumbnails
in .thumbnails other than thrashing 'em to free some space on a hard
drive :)

But yes, simple way to go to a hidden directory from keyboard should
exists, because just typing "~/.something" doesn't work, you have to
type a full path.

Don't get me wrong, but I believe that
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=136541 is more appropriate
for further discussion ;)
