Hello, I have had a static IPv4 address for several years, and my own modem provides reserved non-routable private wired and wireless IPv4 linked to MAC addresses good enough for my mobile phone to get access. I am not willing to pay for a greater data rate than the maximum possible FTTC data rate reported by my modem, which varies with weather and ground water. conditions. I am not likely to get any offers of FTTP other than from BT, and that will not be until they provide a suitable duct from their access chamber under the pavement, a total of around 10 Metres. My TV aerial points in line with the the main A40 Western Avenue with line of sight blocked by the nearby hill, although working well with small dropouts, but several more skyscrapers are planned so I may be forced to get TV by fibre soon. My sister has had FTTP from CommunityFibre.co.uk for a couple of years, so I know the difference. -- Chris Bell www.chrisbell.org.uk
