Did you read the post? It is about the global race to open the first HLW
repository, currently most likely to be Germany or South Korea. In case the
importance of HLW repositories to global change is lost on you, may I remind
you that nuclear power produces little waste and lowest greenhouse gas
emissions per kWh produced, but what little waste there is, many nations
agree, is best stored in geologic repositories for long term disposal.

Your theory is that Yankee insularity and chauvinism is what is preventing
the problem from being solved? My theory is that barriers to the 10-fold
expansion of nuclear power world-wide are preventing the problem from being
solved. HLW isolation is one of the barriers preventing a 10-fold
expansion of nuclear power world-wide by 2100 (to achieve emission
trajectories consistent with IS92c or SRES A1T.)
Many nations are racing to solve the HLW isolation facility construction
problem, and it would seem that we can expect the World's First sometime
around 2015-2020.
