As I watched my mechanic apply the teflon tape to the pipe threads when
assemblying the carb/gascolator, he was meticulous in making certain there
were absolutely no loose ends that could come loose and enter the fuel
flow.
All Teflon was kept in from the end of all nipples at least a full thread
before he started assemblying it.
