Where does this all end?  If the FAA were to relax the requirements to
include Ercoupes, they would be opening up a can of worms that would never
end.  There would always be another plane out there that was just a few
pounds over the g.w. requirement, and someone would want it included.
Then another, then another, and so on, and so on.  The Ercoupe loses out
on both GW, and stall speed.  I could almost see them changing the GW to
include the Coupe, because that would be arbitrary and would include any
other plane that fit within that weight class but not the stall speed.
The Coupe stall speed in far too high to make a good argument for.  Then
again, I could be pleasantly surprised.  I was wrong once..... just can't
remember when.  Maybe it was the sawdust episode.

Remmember we have to ask for the stall speed to be raised also. 
Just weight only will not do it.
