Harmute, I think you will find the STC (SA319WA) calls for 0.20 inch thick aluminum..I think all STC for metalizing also call for 0.020" aluminum. In the Specification A-718, page 5, and A-787, page 12 : under Misc...*601 - "Metal plating of wings per Tech instruction report 103000 by Birtchcraft Engrg. Co., 11836 Cherry Ave., Inglewood, CA." Weight increase ......"32 lbs. at +36 arm." I too have heard ~ 40 pounds.......( Other approved STC metalizing say use actual weight increase...)
