Hi gang,
Just a thought......after getting used to 'depending' on those
'barn-door' flaps on the Cessnas,
how many students or low time pilots would be able to make the landing
when they discovered on final
approach that 'the flaps won't go down'? Sounds like 'go-around' time and
try a whole new method of
landing which they haven't been train in. (Assuming of course that it's
more serious than just a popped
circuit breaker that could be corrected during the go-around.)
That's why Cessnas seem to 'float' instead of touching down, it's the
extra lift created by the
flaps.
