Ouch... cold words..... :)

The whole idea was that the FBI was going to help him out if he helped them
out. We will probably never know what the FBI told him, but Im sure it was
along the lines of "if you help us in a few cases, the courts will never see
your case and no one will ever know about it"... come on.... its the FBI!

But the fact of the matter is there are people out there that are trying to
rob your house. Some people do it for a living. By putting bars up, you're
taking that much extra measure, and chances are the theif will move on to an
easier target.

Someone
Although it does go hand in hand. If they had patched their systems, or even
used something other than BIND, it wouldve saved them a lot of headaches.

Yes, he broke the law. There is no question about that. I believe what Kurth
was trying to say was all the Administrators that were crying up and down
about the break-in, shouldve taken the necessary proceedures to make it that
much harder to get into the system in the first place. I mean... if an
automated PROGRAM can break into your system, then you obviously have very
weak lines of defense.

Agreed. He knew exactly what he was doing, and that is why he pled guilty to
his charges. The whole point of the story was to point out how the FBI
really is. They are in it for themselves, and thats it. Do you think that
Max wouldve ever helped the FBI in some cases if they werent offering him
some sort of deal? "Well, we're still going to prosecute you, but can you
find it in your heart to help us with these cases?? pretty please?" I dont
think so.
