To all who received the original e-mail:
1. Unfortunately there was no call-ins.
2. It was <>?! refreshing to hear someone quitetly and succinctly
differentiate Linux FSF paradigm vs Commercial ( Microsoft, Apple et
al)
Linux: Build a stable OS and the software will come
Others: Write the vaporware and eventually the OS will come. ( at $
a year to up-grade)
3. He quietly described how companies that rent/lease asp (?)
applications and yearly licesnses will be put under greater pressure
to 'freeze' their current platforms because there
is a definite lack of return in investment in updating software
every year. ('You don't buy new computers every year' his quote.)
4. Nothing new, no ranting, well-articulated.
On an another note. NPR and NHPR have switched to M$ streaming.
When NHPR changed their format to all-talk I made known my
displeasure about no more music. I was told 'But thats not true !
You can listen to several internet channels of M$ streams.' I
pointed out to the station manager that there were Linux, Apple et c
users out there that can't use that format. I was told that
they couldn't afford to broadcast to those different users. Last I
knew Realplay had apps for just about any sytem. BS.
End-of-Rant !
