What if there was a titlebar button that moved the window to a new workspace? I think that would probably be the best of both worlds. The people who want a 'minimize' button are provided with a single button that makes the unwanted window disappear, but instead of relying on the outdated taskbar metaphor, it fits into the 'new' workspace metaphor that Gnome Shell is aiming towards. This would be a natural fit for the Activities display, because now there's no difference between 'hidden/minimized' windows and any other workspace. There doesn't need to be a designated area for hidden windows, because they're all just on other workspaces, which there is already a good interface for. Owen mentioned the titlebar being 'off balance' because of the title being at center and all three buttons off to one side, so how about this: [-] Window Title [X] So that's the 'hide to new workspace' button at left, and close button at right, with title centered. Nice and balanced, eh? What does everybody think? _______________________________________________ gnome-shell-list mailing list gnome-shell-list@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-shell-list
