Just curious about this issue. Since the location of the user's
transaction data file is one of the *most* important pieces of
information for the user to have, why wouldn't that be made readily
available to the user? Wouldn't that directory name be fairly easy and
straightforward to add to the Help->About dialog box? FYI, in looking
thru Bugzilla I couldn't find any mention of a feature request to do
that (although I might have missed it).

It works on Linux (flatpak), but does not on MacOS. Hovering over menu
items in Linux shows a relevant tool-tip in the status bar. MacOS does
nothing, so that is presumably why it also doesn't show the file
location in the MRU.

For the location of user transaction data it's necessary to hover the
mouse over a file in the MRU (most recently used) list near the bottom
of the File menu, which causes the file path to appear in the status
line at the bottom of the window. (At least it does in Windows; I think
I recall that in some platforms it does not.)
