If I hover over the file in the most recent drop down list, then the
full path name is shown in the bottom bar of the window. The #1 fi le
is the currently opened file. #2 is the one most recently before, #3 &
#4 likewise are ones previously worked.
May not be where you want to see it, but it is available.

think that showing the full path to that file ought to be clearly and
easily confirmed to the user. I can't think of a more logical place
