The Traffic Jams near Sharada Mandir School are happening because the School does not have any Parking space in its own premises.
The Traffic Jams(near Sharad Mandir, near the Caculo Mall, etc) are happening because the Traffic Police are allowing vehicles to be parked on the roads. On the other hand, the proposed Campal Football Stadium has around 200 car parking slots + 2 wheeler parking provisions incorporated in its design which is more than sufficient. Moreover, based on the talks we have had with the Sports Authority & the 'GFA', top I League Games will be held at that ground only sparingly and not on a regular basis. On other days, the stadium will be used for School and College games and sports, for practice by local clubs, for city residents and as a coaching and excellence centre for training young footballers. Therefore, the Campal Football stadium as and when it comes up will be a boon for the Panjim residents. With proper planning and better coordination between the SAG and the Kala Academy Authorities, the Stadium Parking Provisions can even be used by those visiting Kala Academy and can help them with their own expansion plans. So it is a win-win situation for the sports lovers, the art and culture lovers and for all, including for the nearby residents. On a related note, even the one Councillor and the Mayor who had initially had their reservations with the stadium have now come out in the stadium's favour. Barring a select few whom one can count with the fingers of one's hand, the entire Panjim wants the stadium and they will get it. The CM too has made such a statement a few days back, which we wholeheartedly welcome. Hence, your apples and oranges analogy is inappropriate and your arguments do not hold much water. regards, Sandeep --------------------------------- > Message: 4 > Date: Tue, 23 Aug 2011 17:10:29 -0700 (PDT) > From: George Pinto <[email protected]> > To: Goanet <[email protected]> > Subject: Re: [Goanet] Daily Traffic Jams near Sharada Mandir School, > Miramar > Message-ID: > <[email protected]> > Content-Type: text/plain; charset=utf-8 > > This is why a football stadium should not be built in Campal.
