The arguments made to defend building a Campal stadium football stadium do not currently meet several tests:
1. There is no transparency on the financing and accounting for the stadium. Why should one assume it is not another SEZ or food-park type scam? Every Goan has a right to be skeptical till proven otherwise. 2. The stadium could end up aesthetically similar to Fatorda, an eyesore and derelict and not maintained. 3. The expansion of Kala Academy has come at an environmental cost, so will the stadium. 4. The smooth flow of traffic is based on the assumption that Goans follow traffic rules and police enforce them - a fantasy. In fact the traffic jams near Sharada Mandir is a warning of things to come.
