The CM too has made such a statement a few days back, which we wholeheartedly welcome. COMMENT: I believe that both of the above gentlemen are making very valid points. On the one hand, Sandeep is rightly looking for a progressive facility (stadium) which can have multiple users/usages. On the other hand, George rightly points out that a stadium in the middle of Campal will only exacerbate the already log-jammied Panjim roads. One notes from Sandeep that there are causes for this log-jamming; one correctible (police enforcement of parking rules), the other, perhaps not easily correctible (the Sharada Mandir parking deficit). It makes sense therefore that before any movement is made towards building a stadium - which will bring in additional cars, enough thought is given to building a parking garage or two or three, and then move forward. George is probably using his knowledge that (like airports, bus stations, mega-markets), most new stadiums are constructed 'out of town'. It does make sense, does it not? In the sum total, I can foresee additional chaos on the streets on Panjim with this new stadium coming on stream. Panjim was never meant to house so many people with so many cars; though, it cold be argued: If Modgoncars can 'exist' with all that chaos on the streets, why wouldn't Ponnjecars? I do not claim to know the answer to that question. jc
