There's quite a few parameters needed when coloring the data for thematic mapping. You would specify the color range (eg red to green), the number of classes, the classification method (eg Natural Breaks, Equal Interval, Quantiles, Standard Deviations). To start with I'm going to try something without these parameters, making a thematic map using Equal Interval classification, with 10 classes, and a color ramp between red and green.
