"I would never have believed anyone would try Cantonese translation professionally through a mandarin text translator? "
I misread yours. That's why Google needs to have a Cantonese translator. Because they just have a "Chinese" translator, which is "Mandarin" translator in reality. Mandarin = spoken Mandarin + written Mandarin Standard Chinese = written Mandarin Usually Cantonese = spoken Cantonese. Written Cantonese (using Cantonese lexical and grammar) is not allowed. That's why there's statement like "written language is the same whether you speak Cantonese or Mandarin" I even see Shanghaiese write in Shanghaiese nowadays. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "General" group.
