Hi Edger, It is actually quite challenging for us to build separate Portuguese systems – one for Brazilian Portuguese and one for Portugal Portuguese. Our system is built from training of large amounts of parallel data (see http://translate.google.com/about/ for more details). And unfortunately, for most of our data we're unable to automatically distinguish between the two dialects of Portuguese. These things are easy for humans, but not so easy for machines.
I won't say that we'll never have two separate Portuguese systems, but at least right now, it's pretty difficult for us to try to build one. Sorry for the inconvenience.
