I can understand that dificulty. But atleast it would be a good start if people could tell that they are correcting a translation specificly to Portuguese (portugal), because people can do that(correcting) at the google translater. For example: when translating from "My car" we get "Meu carro", this is brasilian, why? Because portuguese use 'pronoms' that both in english and in blasilian are omitted. "O meu carro" would be the Portuguese (portugal translation). Actualy if you put either "Meu carro" or "O meu carro" into english you get "My car" in both cases, which means google already recognises this, but its all mixed.
So all i think is, if you give people the option of saying that they are correcting a translation into Portuguese(pt) or Portuguese(br) with time they will both become quite correct. I would even suggest, since the program already recognizes recognizes both cases but all mixed up, that in an inicial fase, google could instead of giving just one translation(in small translations, for obvious reasons) give several options of translation, and based on the peoples choises they would be ordered by 'popularity' and that would, in time, diferenciate (pt) from (br).
