Pozdrav explorer,

Sorry for my previous message, Ii had not read this one yet. It can indeed
be cumbersome to translate by yourself haha :)

I hava no trouble whatsoever creating .csv or .tmx files. The problem is
indeed to get hold of the data, or to create it!

As a matter of fact, Bosnian has been the official language of Bosnia and
Herzegovina for centuries, but has been forbidden to be named as such by
Royal decree at the beginning of the 20th century and got replaced by so
called Serbo-Croatian (srpsko-hrvatski) or Croatian-Serb (hrvatsko-srpski).
Montenegrin is facing the same issue.

All language data belonging to the latter (srpsko-hrvatski,
hrvatsko-srpski) also belongs to the Bosnian language, as long it uses
"iekavian" and not "ekavian" grammatical rules. It needs to be proofread
anyway to check for specific Croatian and Serbian wordings and phrasings,
Montenegrin ones being mainly similar.

What I do is:

1) Build glossaries and/or TMs from nil.
2) Get hold of data as you mention, under free licence and in respect with
the licence agreements (to be read carefully in order not to violate the
mentioned agreements) to build on consolidated glossaries.

Note that some private websites and/or institutions make free dictionaries,
i.e. glossaries, available for free.

Consequently, creating additional parallel data would be, as said
previously, the top priority (except the GIYL translations). For language
available sources, let me know if you'd like some information.

If on your side, you find any available glossaries and/or translation
memories, I would be more than glad to have a look at it with you in order
to compare with existing date I have, which is becoming significant, at
least for English-Bosnian translations.

So getting hold of data is a major priority and web search can be of help.
You might notice that apart from former Yugoslav countries, Northern
American websites (universities, institutions, etc.) do make some data
available, as well as some reference translation websites.

Let me know if you have any thoughts on this.

May I ask how come you show interest for Bosnian? Bosnian yourself?

Regards,

Senad
