It is not gOS, but you. When you change to a new OS, you need to
change the way you think. By always drawing comparisons and not
learning the Linux way to do things you are making defeat inevitable.

I use Ubuntu and with the restricted extras installed all multimedia
works perfectly, even with 64-bit. There is nothing that I cannot do
and it is far simpler to install software from a menu than Windows
where I have to search for programmes on the internet. I never have to
re-boot after an update. I never have to worry about anti-virus
software or have a gazillion things running in the system tray to slow
me down and get in the way. I never have to defragment a drive. life
is so much simpler and I am more productive.

I am sure that you got off on the wrong foot by choosing gOS. Any of
the bigger distros would have produced better results. I am not sure
why people are drawn to a little used distro when there are so many
better supported ones.

Best of luck with Windows. You may need it.
