Sorry to hear that you have not had a good experience with gOS. Was this
your first time with Linux? If so, gOS was probably not the best choice to
try. It's a lot of fun with some really good features but probably not the
most newbie friendly. I would suggest that, once you have reinstalled
windows, you set up a dual boot with another Linux distro. My own personal
favourite is Linux Mint, which comes with most of the codecs for playing
movies, mp3's etc. It is also very good at recognising hardware.
