This idea that nobody from Mozilla supported Brendan has come up multiple times. planet.mozilla.org is the site that aggregates the personal blogs of many Mozilla employees and community members. It's probably the closest thing we have to a "voice of Mozilla". Last night I went back over all the blogs posts made between Brendan's appointment and his resignation. Of those that discussed Brendan's appointment 13 expressed support, 2 expressed dissent, and 5 weren't clearly in favour or against. (A lot of the "support" ones said "his prop 8 donation troubles me, but I support him nonetheless".) Since the resignation, there have been 6 that were from people clearly upset with what happened to Brendan, 0 that were from people clearly happy, and 19 that I'll categorize as "other" (reflection, surprise, sadness, among other things). You may choose to discount the posts made after his resignation, since they were too late to help. But the resignation certainly came as a huge shock to everyone here, and I've heard multiple say that if they'd known it would happen, they would have expressed public support. Hindsight is 20/20, as they say, and the 10(?) days when Brendan was CEO were a maelstrom for everyone involved. I've been contemplating my share of "what ifs" over the past few days.
