Perhaps by explaining to those not familiar with the two companies, the vital 
importance they have in these matters. It would be particularly convincing if 
you could give examples of other internally backed CEO's they have successfully 
forced to resign.

I have no reason to doubt that it was his own choice to resign, but was it 
really only external pressure that drove him into the corner?
