I think that if you look at how the situation played out, we tried to make
that case, but it's a difficult bit of nuance that the beliefs of a CEO
need not match the beliefs of the organization.  That message didn't stick
for enough people to stem the tide.  That said, we can't fix the past, but
we can move forward to ensure Brendan's work (and sacrifice) continues.

I think the best thing would have been for the board as a whole to make a
very big stand on the Moz guidelines and freedom of speech (I hate what
you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it .....),
because that is a big part of what Moz stands for.  As it is you are now
in just as much trouble only the hassle now coming from the loons on the
other side.

Eich's judgement (this will never go away as long as I am around) here is
as poor as his political views, but assuming he never let these views
stand in the way of good software and the rest then this should not have
happened, and never ever the way it was done.
