I don't think it is too much to ask people to do the same, which is

Doesn't the proposed policy suggest that people be deliberate about what
they post to Planet, and start with a disclaimer if what they write
about is potentially divisive, not that they don't post religious content?
I think the answer is very simple
Just indicate in the subject that the content is "Personal Opinion"
Example: Gay Marriage referendum |Personal Opinion
Now if you think you will be offended, then don't be by simply skipping
the post
If OTOH you feel the need to be offended then read it and be as irate as
you want
Everyone's personal opinions and beliefs are precious to them
We need to learn to respect that, and not be so confrontational
The question is who needs to show respect? The individual, who needs to respect that not
everyone would like to read personal opinionated blog posts, or the group, that needs to
respect that people sometimes post very personal, opinionated blog posts. I tend to lean
towards Spock here who says "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of a few"
(and by need I mean the need to not read things which might potentially offend them).
Why would anyone syndicate a post to Planet if that person can simply choose
not to do so. And people who're interested in the personal views of that person
can choose to go to the blog directly by clicking some of the links on Planet.
In some cases it just might be a need to share a moment of personal
"Joy" You just might have to just "Shout it out" and many may want to
share that joy. I'm not talking about affectation , but heartfelt
experiences. Their voices should never be stiffed, nor will they ever be.
I know this is not a social media, but
