Howdy friends,

Gunner here, I normally lurk on this list, and I appreciate all the
thoughtful threads that happen here.

As someone who always uses the text only option for emails when
available, for security, privacy and efficiency reasons, I'm concerned
how you are conflating "inactive subscribers" with text-only subscribers.

I am an active participant in many Mozilla endeavors, I just don't want
my clicks tracked. I don't consider myself or others like me "inactives".

"No feedback loop available" is a feature not a bug to many including
myself.

I think it will be seen as another slap in the face to an
already-frustrated community to ratchet up email-based tracking.

These "paper cut" changes keep hurting the org's images in the global
circles I travel, non-Mozilla folks I respect and listen to are
generally disgusted with what they perceive as Mozilla's creeping
mediocrity on user privacy.

Put differently, Mozilla just ran a campaign about effectively being the
browser that doesn't spy on you, and now we're doing just that with email?

peace,
gunner
