I can understand that Michele wants to take a moment to work out why what she may have thought was a routine change generated such a strong negative reaction. And she may want to get that reorientation from a small group she knows well. That's fine. But I agree that when the discussion returns here, and it should, then an explanation of why this was originally proposed and how the thinking has changed (if it has) and why needs to be provided.
