Horts How much money has been spent on public education about colds & flu's - yet 99% of patients still insst on antibiotics everytime they cough, get a sore throat etc. Most GP'ds tell patients it is a virus, yet they come back the next day, and the next, and the next or goes elsewhere till they get an antibiotic. What a waste of money educating public on health. Look at the Aids increase - yetr millions were spent on Education about aids. As soon as adds stop - mankind forgets. Cigarette health warnings - only slightly succesful. How many asthmatics still smoke ? How many people still get killed n MVA because of young drivers ? Yet the public education campaign continues, but has no effect.

Why do you pay taxes in the first place? I am happy to see my tax money spent on public health and public education - there is no better way in spending money. I am deeply disturbed and extremely unhappy if it is spent on wars and bureaucracy. We live in times where a country can afford to feed and accommodate every single person living within it's boundaries even if a significant proportion of those don't contribute to the workforce - but we can do much better than just that. We could also afford to keep every single person as healthy as modern medicine allows, and as educated as their personal potential allows, and we still would have ressources to spare - if we would just stop wasting them on nonsense and trinkets. Envy and avarice are poor counselors.
