Horst Don't get me wrong. I agree with your thoughts on Public education, but it hasn't worked & won't work - unless you use the big stick. Educating kids at school about colds & Flu ? Won't work, as most kids if not all get hammered about how bad Alcohol, drugs & smoking is. Yet - not helped.
A large % of kids won't remember what they were tought a year ago. What do we do with Migrants ? Before they can use Medicare, give them a exam to pass on household basc Medicine ? (example: Colds & Flu's caused by viruses, antibiotics thus useless etc) Frequently the same person gets caught drink driving, speeding etc. Surely after the 1st speeding fne you have learnt your lesson ? The same applies to Dr's who can't read PBS guideline. The big stick approach helps to a degree.
