Don't get me wrong. I agree with your thoughts on Public education, but it
hasn't worked & won't work - unless you use the big stick. Educating kids
at school about colds & Flu ? Won't work, as most kids if not all get
hammered about how bad Alcohol, drugs & smoking is. Yet - not helped.

A large % of kids won't remember what they were tought a year ago.

What do we do with Migrants ? Before they can use Medicare, give them a
exam to pass on household basc Medicine ? (example: Colds & Flu's caused by
viruses, antibiotics thus useless etc)

Frequently the same person gets caught drink driving, speeding etc. Surely
after the 1st speeding fne you have learnt your lesson ?

The same applies to Dr's who can't read PBS guideline. The big stick
approach helps to a degree.

Printing glossy pamphlets and sending 30 seconds TV ads is NOT education.
It's
bureaucratic bullshit and waste of taxpayers money.

Integrating health into the school curriculum is education (for example)

Education takes time and reaps benefits in the future, not now - hence not
popular with our politicians who all seem to suffer from severe ADD
