duh.. well, people start branding me as a harmful person.. anyways, that
doesnt mean that i should not express what i feel..

(1). A person coming and settling in a *village* in kerala from outside
kerala..
For me, that is something suspicious.. mainly becuase this is an age of
rural->urban migration (at least in the rest of india, i do agree that is
not such a big issue in kerala).. and because an external person would find
it difficult to cope up with the malayalee language and lifestyle if he
lives in a village (in a town, mebbe, he can manage).. and because there is
a very low chance of him finding a means of living which would earn him to
the tune of things that he may have been earning, esp. after having lived in
a city.. the first suspicion would be that he is doing some kind of
underground activity.. (i do not mean that this person in question is doing
this)..

(2). A bunch of visitors from Europe..
This would mean that the resident maintains contacts with friends outside..
and villagers may start saying "ayaal valiya entho manushyana..
videshathinne virunnukaarokke".. this humane feeling may lead to the
suspicion that this chap is doing something more than just living a quiet
life.. this, thus gives more strength to the "underground activity"
suspicion..

i would say that anybody who doesnt blend well with the society causes
suspicion and triggers rumours.. and i would suspect that this person in
question, partly due to the language barrier, wouldnt have blended well with
the society.. remember the suresh gopi in thoovalsparsham or mammoootty in
kalikkalam.. juz being silent/introvertish triggered a lot of rumours among
his neighbors..

regardless of his/her religion, most of the people in this group would have
asked the sub-ordinate "entha avde nadakkunne enne nokkeette vaa,
naattukaarokke oronne paranjundaakkunnundello, sathyaavastha ariyanamello"
if he/she were an SI even..

you can brand me using whateva name ("harmful person" is the label given to
me by venugopalan).. but, i would stand by my word for sure.. no point in
being indifferent to suspicioius activity..
