I quite frequently see the 'we' moniker used in this forum in relation to a
range of topics, but nobody finds any brahminical conspiracy nor attempts to
impose idiosyncrasies in them. Be that as it may, the last two posts remind
me of a comment about 'pre-emptive blogging' by a blogger:

1. We criticize X (where X represents a person, a government or a political
movement).

2. One or more commenters responds, not with a direct defense of X, but with
"What about Y (where Y represents a person, a government or a political
movement for which we supposedly have more sympathy), who did something we
consider just as bad, if not worse."

3. Despite protestations (of subject-changing, unfair moral equivalence,
etc.), the commenters of paragraph 2 believe they have achieved stalemate,
if not checkmate.
Venugopalan and Ranjit made several wrong assumptions about me, but the most
prominent ones among them are that I am a religious Hindu and that I am
sympathetic to the 'Y', that is Hindutva. The insistence that everybody
prove their secular credentials by bashing Hindutva whenever they criticize
other equally pernicious identity politics from other parties, according to
me is fundamentally no different from the RSS insistence that Muslims prove
their patriotism.

Identity politics is bad, whether practiced by Madani, RSS or Narayana
Panicker.

Best regards,
Murali.

A single death is a tragedy, a million deaths is a statistic.

To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary.
These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a
revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing
machine motivated by pure hate. We must create the pedagogy
of the paredon (The Wall)!
