Growl's purpose is to make things controllable for the user for flippant notifications. Things like a notification of a finished download that you didn't want to monitor, but wanted to know when it's completed, or say an ftp upload that is taking a while so you don't have to sit there and wait for it. What you're describing is so far something I've not considered, hence what I typed. I can see having the hang time on notifications be configured a bit differently to allow for more control. I however can't see changing each and every notification from the same app for the same notification type. However, that doesn't mean that someone couldn't show a way to do that that's both sane and easy to use. Either way, none of this is what OmniGrowl is doing. What you're talking about means a codechange, so we're discussing the need behind the code change, in order to help us determine if it's something that's applicable to a larger group of Growl app dev consumers, Growl end users, and in general the Growl Team. Please try to not take offense, we're merely discussing things in order to ascertain the best route to take, as we've always done. Does this better explain what I said earlier?
