Well, you need some way of controlling the heat.  Either an on/off switch,
or some other thermostatic device.  I've had the bi-metallic strip type, and
it was OK, but the Heattroller is the best, and more importantly it is
small.  I got the dual head one, so I can control by gloves independently of
the jacket liner, which is also nice.

I can't comment about attaching, though the idea of using the dual headed
Heattroller and 2 leads does make a lot of sense.  Mike will sell you the
Heattroller at a discount because you are on the list...just email him.

Anything that is attached to the electrical system of the bike is going to
be better than D-cells.  Also these are GLOVES not mittens, so you will have
better control of the levers etc.  Personally I wouldn't ride using mittens
unless it were close to a life/death situation.
